Sarah Goodson, relict of the late James M. Goodson, died at the home of J. Lee Bunch at Beaver Creek, December 18, 1905. Mrs. Goodson had been a resident of this county ever since her birth in 1834 and was one of the pioneer residents. She was the daughter of John and Nancy Reeves and was born in Pleasant Mound township August 3, 1834. She was married February 1, 1853 in the county to James M. Goodson. To them were born two children. The daughter, Florence died in infancy. The son, W.U. Goodson resided in East St. Louis. James M. Goodson, the husband, died May 30, 1898. One sister, Mrs. Margaret Berry resides at Pleasant Mound township. Brothers who have died are, W.B. Reeves, George W. Reeve and Thomas Reeves. Burial was in Camp Ground cemetery.
