Albert was born in Freedom Township, Illinois, the son of Anson Alanson Beers and Lucy Child Beers. He went with his parents to Iowa, settling first in Grundy County, then to Cerro Gordo County and finally in Floyd County.
He married Lydia A. Paine in 1890 at Nora Springs, Iowa. They had one daughter, Hazel. Albert was a house painter in Nora Springs.
When Hazel married and moved to Montana to homestead, they missed her enough to decide to also settle and homestead in Montana, applied for land in 1910, obtained land within six miles of Hazel and her husband Delano Antoine. They traveled to Montana by railroad car, called an immigrant car, with all their possessions, including furniture, machinery, 2 horses, and a cow. They rode the railroad to Shawmut, were met there by Hazel and Antoine, and began their life on the homestead. Eventually, they left the homestead and moved to Harlowton, and Albert then worked as caretaker of the County Park until he retired. They then bought a small farm at Nihill and were there until both died, first Lydia and then Albert.
Their daughter Hazel had five children, lived in Montana until the late 1930's and then moved the family to Idaho where they lived the rest of their lives.
