David Allan Dellamar Resident of Alamo David Allan Dellamar a resident of Alamo, California passed away at a young 50 years of age on August 11, 2009. After a short 45 day battle with cancer, David passed peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. David was born December 3, 1958 to Margaret and Alfred Dellamar. He grew up in Lafayette, CA and attended Happy Valley Elementary, St. Perpetua's Catholic School, Stanley Intermediate, and Acalanes High School. David is survived by his wife Michelle; son Lucas Dellamar; daughter Jaymi Dellamar; stepdaughter Marisa Wilson; father Alfred Dellamar; brother Steve Dellamar; and sisters: Marilyn Dellamar, Joni Bushnell, Judee Sorenson, and Janet Dellamar. David was the owner and President of Delmar Electric Company, Inc., based in the East Bay. His father Alfred Dellamar started the business in Berkeley, California in 1950. It meant a lot to David that continuing to work with his father kept their relationship close and made him very proud. Above all, David was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend to many. Everyone knew how much he loved and adored his children and valued his family deeply. He was known by all for his unquestionable generosity of time and heart to help others in any time of need with a passion for life. David was a man of integrity and dignity and thankful for his family and friends who showed him great lengths of love and friendship through many life experiences. David was still so wonderfully boyish and filled with so many childhood memories that he loved to tell. He always had us all laughing with excitement when he generously shared his precious life stories. David had character in many activities while enjoying the sun, outdoors, cars, golf, water skiing, snow skiing, dirt bikes, street bikes, his Harley, boating, and most recently surfing. He wanted to be the best at everything he did and set a great example of dedication to all that he did at work and at play. David loved Hawaii, with his favorite place being the Mauna Kea Beach & Resort which he visited regularly with his loving wife Michelle. Since his marriage to Michelle Dellamar on 9-15-07 in Carmel, CA, his travels and marriage enriched his life and gave him a lifetime of love in their 8 fulfilling years together. David was a man of his word and truly believed in living each day to the fullest with no regrets. He will be deeply missed by all he touched. His strength and loving character will never be forgotten and David will forever remain in our hearts. A Celebration of Life for David will be held on Saturday August 29, 2009 at 2pm at the Diablo Country Club, 1700 Club House Road, Diablo, CA. Donations in remembrance of David can be made to the California State Parks Foundation to the David Allan Dellamar Memorial Fund, 50 Francisco Street, Suite 110, San Francisco, CA 94133.
