Obituary - "Wife of Justice William R. Day Dead. - CANTON, O., Jan. 5. - Mrs. Day, wife of Justice of the United States Supreme Court William R. Day, died at the family residence this afternoon. Mrs. Day was 61 years old. The family consists of Justice Day and four sons, Judge William A. Day, of the United States District Court at Cleveland; Luther and Rufus Day, lawyers of Cleveland, and Stephen Day, lawyer of Chicago. Death was due to cancer of the spine. Specialists have been several times to consult with the family physicians, but Mrs. Day's condition became steadily worse. For several months her life hung in the balance. Justice Day was rarely away from home and the strain has told heavily upon him. Mrs. Day was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schaefer, who were pioneer residents of Canton, and all of her life, except when in Washington, has been spent in Canton."
