Bath School Disaster Victim

LaVere was the son of LaVere C. and Florence Harte. He was nine years old and in the fourth grade. He loved to draw, and would draw pictures and trade them to other children for marbles and playthings. LaVere wanted to draw funnies when he grew up. He loved Sunday School, and was always dressed and ready to go. LaVere was one of 45 killed when a disgruntled employee bombed the school. It remains as the worst attack on a school in the history of the United States.

Lavere Robert Harte but his family called him Robert! born in Bath Michigan at his home to Lavere C. Florence Sweet/Harte on August 26th, 1917. Robert was very sweet boy. He loves going to his Grandparents house on his Dads side. He loves going to School. He started when he was 6 years old and by the time he was 9 years old, this would be his last school year. On May 18th, 1927, Robert had a test to take for the end of the school year. When he was taken his final, At 8:45am, Bath School North Wing exploded, hidden there was dynamite and Pyrotol in the basement of the School by a Disgruntled employee of the School Board and mass murderer, Andrew Kehoe. Robert sadly was killed at 8:45am at during the explosion. His parents later found his body in the Debris. He is Buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath Michigan. Rest Easy Lavere Robert! Lavere Robert Harte. His family just calls him Robert, was born on August 26, 1917 at his home in Bath Michigan. Robert was a very sweet little boy. He loves to draw pictures of funnies and things he like when he grows up. He loves to trade his pictures to other children to marbles and toys. He helps his mom Florence with the baby who would be Robert's little brother Neil Russel Harte who was born on July 6, 1922. He loves going to his grandparents house David and LuLu Harte's who are on his Dads side of the family. Robert loved going to School at the Bath Consolidated School in Bath Mi. He started school at 6 years old until when he was 9 years old, this would be his last school year that year in the 1926-1927 school year.
On May 18th, 1927, Robert had to fed chickens at his parents farm, Robert asked his mom if he would stay home for the last day of school cause he didn't want to take his end of the year exam, his mom had made him go to School! So Robert grabbed his lunch bucket and went out the side door of there home. This was the last time his mom saw him that morning when he headed for School. Robert was taken his final exam and at 8:45 am, an alarm clock ticking off silently and then the North Wing of the Bath School Exploded. Robert was killed at 8:45am during the School Explosion instantly at age 9 years old. His parents later found Robert in the Debris of the wreaked and bombed school. The Explosion was caused a Dynamite and Pyrotol blast and was set and hidden in the basement of the School by a Disgruntled Employee/ Mass Murderer name Andrew P. Kehoe who was the School Board Member of the School Board and Neighbor, he and his wife who he murdered before the School Explosion lived about 2 blocks from where the Harte Family lived in Bath Michigan. Lavere C. Harte's parents lived across the road from the Kehoes.
Robert is Buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath Michigan. Rest Easy Robert, Much Love and never forgotten on that fateful day.
