TOWN HILL - Dorothy M. Hadley, 101, died Sept. 16, 2004, at a Mount Desert Island healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 9, 1903, in Preston, England, the daughter of Allen B. and Janet E. (Daltress) Mills.
Dorothy had been a member of the Town Hill Federated Church and served on the Home Extension and Ladies Club. She had also been a member of the Mount Desert Bird Club, the Mt. View Grange No. 484, and the Mount Desert Island Literary Club.
She is survived by a son, Frederick A. Hadley and wife, Joan, of Wellsboro, Pa.; a daughter, Barbara J. Richard-son, of Town Hill; five grandchildren, Lynne Richardson, Steven Richardson, Arlene LeRoy, Scott Hadley, and Janice Chamberlain; and six great-grandchildren, Stephanie Fountaine, Sam Richardson, Blake, Ross, Tyler and Rachel Chamberlain.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Frederick G. Hadley in 2001; and her son-in-law, Ralph M. Richardson.
Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Town Hill. (Bangor Daily News 9/18/2004)
