Text: On Thursday afternoon, March 31st, Mr. A. Luke, our much respected shoemaker, went to his stable to milk his cow, and soon after, Mr. Allen was passing by, he heard a strange noise as of hard breathing and on opening the door, he found Mr. Luke laying on the floor spattered with milk and unconscious. Mr. Allen lifted him fromthe floor and set him up but he only gasped a few times and was dead. He had been somewhat out of health for a few days. He was born in Bordentown, N.J. and was nearly 74 years of age. He was an active earnest Christian, a member of the M.E. Church and one who adored his profession by a well ordered life and Godly conversation, a living witness of the spirits transforming power, honored and respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were the Sabbath after, conducted by Rev. E. H. Yingling.
