James Reidy, 42, of 841 Grove St, died Monday in Mass General Hospital, Boston, after a long illness. He was a Worcester patrolman from 1965 to 1969. He had served in the foot patrol and motor patrol.

At the time of his death, he left his wife, Constance J (Fitzmaurice) Reidy; three sons, James A Reidy Jr, Michael Patrick Reidy and Thomas J Reidy; two daughters, Mary T Reidy and Denise J Reidy; his mother, Agnes M (Trudell) Reidy; a brother, Francis D Reidy of Worcester, and two sisters, Mary, wife of Robert DeMaio and Theresa Reidy, both of Spencer.

Mr. Reidy was a member of St. George's parish, was past president of Bay State Bass Masters Association, and was president of the Worcester Bass Masters Association. He was a Korean War Marine Corps veteran.

He was born in Worcester. His father was the late Dennis F. Reidy.
