Sarah Marshall might have been Laura (b 1865) and Florence's (b 1861) mother. When Edwin passed away, it appears his father, John Warmoth became the guardian of his daughters. Laura and Florence can be found living with John Warmoth in both the 1870 the 1880 US Censuses of Edwards County, IL.
