(special thanks to Richard Ferguson for the following info) - Benjamin was the son of Joseph M. Ferguson and Mary Rutha Wood. Mary Rutha Wood Ferguson is buried in York county South Carolina and Joseph and his second wife, Lauraina Walston Ferguson, are buried in Scott Cemetery in Walker County.

Benjamin is a Ancestor of mine and I have been trying to find his grave for several years now. He married Emaline Shurley and there are several of her family buried in the Scott Cemetery but I have never been able to find a marker for Benjamin or Emaline.

(obituary by Marg) Mr. Benjamin Ferguson, who moved away from this community over twenty years ago, died February 17 at his home in Sarogossa, Ala., aged 84. Mr. Ferguson was well known here, having been a prominent member of the Waxhaw Baptist church. He has one daughter, Mrs. J. J. Wolfe, living in this community.
