B. Clarence Whittle, 87, of Springfield, died Thursday, October 4, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, October 6, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home Chapel in North with the Rev. Robbie Croft and the Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Penn Branch Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Whittle, Brad Whittle, Tommy Betsill, Kevin Foy, Glenn Mills and Robert Hallman.
Mr. Whittle was born in Barnwell County, a son of the late Mark B. and Lillie Kay Odom Whittle. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a retired farmer and formerly operated Ethridge's Hardware in North. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Cook Whittle of the home and a number of nieces and nephews.
