Rev. W. E. Hamblin was called to rest February 22, 1924. His death was due to heart trouble.

He was married to Miss Lector Lindsey, September 22, 1888. To this union were born twelve children, seven boys and five girls. Two boys having died when quite young. So he leaves his wife, ten children, twenty-five grandchildren, a host of friends, and the P. H. Church family to mourn his departure.

His body was laid to rest at Trigg, Giles County, VA, February 24, 1924, in the Wesleyan Chapel Cemetery to await the resurrection of the just.

Bro. Hamblin was connected with the Christian Church early in life, and when Pentecost came he saw the light and walked in it, so he has been in the Pentecostal movement about fifteen years. He was ordained by the P. H. Church in 1912.

Bro. Hamblin was loved by all. He had a good report without and within. He was some of the real salt of the earth.

The shock to his dear family was so sudden, just like a thunder clap out of a clear sky He only lived a few hours after being attacked. However, he had a little spell or two before, but nothing to especially alarm the family. Oh, how heart rending it was to them to give him up. Those married boys and girls just loved him like they did when they were little and played around the hearth stone. Just to say that they will miss him is not enough, for it looked like they just could not be reconciled to him going, and his dear wife, I shall never forget how she was overpowered with grief. Praise God because they do not have to weep as those that have no hope, for if they will be true they shall meet him again never to part any more. May the grace of God sustain them all in their grief.

The funeral was largely attended. However, it was a real bad day. He was taken back to his neighborhood where he was raised for burial, and also where his two little children were buried. He made this special request to his dear wife just a few weeks before his death. I was so sorry for the family because they could not reach Bro. E. D. Reeves to conduct the funeral service, as they so much desired to have him, and so it fell to my lot to fill the place, which I did the best I could. The thing that impressed me so was that the boys were not ashamed of Pentecost, as so many of our people's children are. Oh, how I admired them for the respect they had for their father's religion. They knew that he had the real goods, so what a comfort that must have been to them.

Remember children your father's prayers, and may God bless you all, and may you so live that when life is over you all will meet again to never part.
