ANTHONY ROARING RIVER - Mr. James "Jim" Edward Anthony, age 84, of Roaring River died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Life Care Center of Banner Elk.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 6, at White Plains Baptist Church with the Pastor William Souther officiating. The body will be placed in the Church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Church cemetery. The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday night.
Mr. Anthony was born in Wilkes County, January 7, 1925, to John and Maggie Shinault Anthony.
He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Mr. Anthony was employed at Carolina Mirror as a glass cutter until his retirement.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ella Mae Alexander Anthony, Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by three sisters, Easter Burchette, Ila Parks, and Lena Parks; and four brothers, Finnie Anthony, Jay Anthony, Gilbert Anthony, and Albert Anthony.
Mr. Anthony is survived by two daughters, Inez Eckard and husband, Rodger of Lewisville and Kate Anthony of Roaring River; two sons, David Anthony and wife, Judy of Purlear and Henry Anthony of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
