Jay, of Alexandria, was born July 8, 1973 and died Thursday, February 20, 2003.
Jay was a 1991 graduate of Pineville High School and served in the National Guard with the 239th Military Police Unit. He was an officer of the Alexandria Police Department and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Herbert L. Hall and paternal grandfather, E. T. Carruth.
Survivors include two daughters, Noelle Carruth, and Margaux Carruth, both of Pineville; parents, Charles and Patricia Carruth of Pineville; three sisters, Stacie Carruth Barrett and husband Shannon of Alexandria, Amy Carruth Drum and husband Brian and Carey Carruth, all of Pineville; maternal grandmother, Anita Dahlhauser Hall of Alexandria; paternal grandparents, Helen and Joe Springer of Pineville and Nancy Carruth of Bunkie; two nieces, Hannah Miller and Mallori Drum, both of Pineville; and two nephews, Justi Barrett and Lane Barrett, both of Alexandria.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. today at Hixson Brothers in Alexandria and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until noon at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until time of service, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a fund has been set up to benefit the children of Jay Carruth at Red River Bank, Account #2106003, P. O. Box 12550, Alexandria, La. 71309.
