Everette Cecil Cox

Everette Cecil Cox, 84, of Clinton, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.Born Aug. 23, 1918, in Anderson County, he was the son of Boyd and Rosa Wade Cox, both now deceased.Mr. Cox was a member of Clinton Second Baptist Church. He was also a member of The Antique Auto Car Club of America, Clinton Region. He was a retired chemical operator at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge with over 38 years of service.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mae Reynolds, Ruth Foust, Irene Morgan and Grace Cox, and by two brothers, Fred Cox and Avie Cox.Mr. Cox is survived by his wife of 64 years, Florence Cox; his son, Paul Cox and wife, Sharron, of Poway, Calif.; two granddaughters, Susie Golden and husband, Brian, and Dawn Dickerhoff and husband, Eric, all of Poway; and by three great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.He is also survived by a nephew, David McGill and wife, Beverly, of Goldsboro, N.C.; two grandnieces, Lynda Richards and husband, Chris, of Powell, and Marisa Herring and husband, Doug, of Goldsboro; two great-grandnephews; one great-grandniece; and by several nieces, nephews and extended family members.The funeral was Sunday, June 22, 2003, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton, with the Rev. Mike Thompson officiating.
Burial was to be at 11 a.m., Monday, June 23, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
