On October 21, 1914 he married Miss Elizabeth Cox of Maury county, Tenn.
Mr Carlen entered the banking business with the old Cookeville Bank in 1914 for 1 year. In 1916 he became connected with the Citizens Bank of Cookeville as bookkeeper and is now assistant cashier. He is also connected with the Coca-Cola Co and the Cookeville Coal & Ice Co, of which he is secretary and treasurer
