Masonic Burial For Lieut. Knode
Victim of Airplane Accident Interred at Oak Hill
Funeral services for Lieut. Thomas Edson Knode, former resident of this city, who was killed in an airplane accident August 9, at Granite, Oklahoma, were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in Oak Hill Cemetery. Services were held under the auspices of the Masonic order. Rev. Charles T. Warner of St. Alban's Episcopal Church officiated.
Lieut. Knode, the son of Thomas J. Knode and Emma E. Edson Knode was born thirty-six years ago, in Portland, Oregon. Coming here, he was graduated from the Georgetown University Law School and for several years following practiced law in this city. He entered the Army service in 1918 and was graduated from the Gosport School of Instruction. He was, at various times, adjutant in charge of Post Field, Oklahoma; instructor at Brooks Field, Texas; instructor at Barron Field and instructor at Carruthers Field. At the time of his death he was instructor at a private aviation school at Enid, Oklahoma.
The body was brought to this city by a brother-in-law, W.E. Whitaker of Los Angeles, California.
Surviving him are wife and three children, Thomas Edson Jr.; Charlotte Romona and Helen Edson Knode, all of Enid, Oklahoma; his mother of Portland, Oregon and a sister, Mrs. Richard B. Webster of Spokane, Washington, wife of Judge Webster of the Superior Court of Washington.
