Charles Fishbaugh, 73, former Markle resident, died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at the home of a son, L. A. Fishbaugh, at Uniondale, where he spent the winter. He had been ailing two months and was seriously ill six weeks.
Born January 18, 1865 in Fairfield County, Ohio, he was the son of Isaac and Lucinda Decker Fishbaugh. He moved with his parents to Indiana and 15 years ago moved to Markle from Rockcreek township of Wells county. He was a farmer and carpenter by trade and retired from the Markle fire department last year.
His first marriage was to Laura King who died April 25, 1892. The second marriage was to Cora Griffin who died March 18, 1929.
He leaves three sons, L. A. at whose home he died; Roy of Carter, Mont.; and Von of south of Markle; three brothers, L. M. of Fort Benton, Mont.; R. H. of Markle and F. B. of Bluffton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Madella McClure is dead.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Reformed church, north of Rockford.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Markle Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Harold W. Mohler, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Emmanual Reformed church cemetery.
