From the Thursday Feb. 15, 1923 Scottsville section of The Caledonia Advertiser-Era:

DEATH LT. H. ANDREWS

Harold Vickery Andrews, retired lieutenant, junior grade, United States Navy, died at his home at Oatka place, Scottsville, at 5:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, after a long illness, resulting from injuries suffered when an airplane in which he was a passenger, crashed to earth at Pensacola Field, Florida, in 1918.

Lieutenant Andrews was one of the best known world war veterans in this section and when his health permitted was an active worker for Scottsville Post, American Legion. He was 30 years old. During a long period of naval service he was in many cruises in different waters, having served under Captain T. Evans, son of the famous "Fighting Bob."

The last air flight made by Lieutenant Andrews was voluntary. He was accompanied by a student aviator, whose inexperience led to faulty manipulation of the plane control, which caused the accident and led to the long illness of Lieutenant Andrews which followed.

Lieutenant Andrews leaves his wife, Nora W. Andrews, a daughter, Marion Andrews; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Andrews; a sister, Mary J. Milling, and a brother, William Andrews, all of Rochester.

Funeral was held Tuesday, from the family home, at 1:30 o'clock and 2 o'clock from the Presbyterian Church at Scottsville. Services were conducted by Smith Warren Post and the F. and A. M. Interment in the family lot at Oatka Cemetery.

His wedding was announced in the Thursday August 23, 1917 Pensacola News Journal (Florida):

On Tuesday afternoon at Christ Episcopal church, occurred the wedding of Miss Nora M. Wells, oldest daughter of E.B. Wells, and Mr. Harold V. Andrews, the ceremony being performed by Rev. J. H. Brown.

The wedding was a quiet affair, only the attendants being present. They were Miss Adelfa Kimball and Mr. E. F. Rouillion.

Following the ceremony the wedding party was entertained by Mr. Rouillion, refreshments being served and an auto ride and picture party enjoyed.

The bride has many friends in Pensacola, where she has resided since early childhood. She has been actively identified with Red Cross work and was an efficient helper in the organization of the local chapter. Mr. Andrews is a chief petty officer in the aviation corps and is serving at the aeronautic station. For the present the happy couple will reside at the home of the bride's father on North Davis street. Mr. Andrews will have a month's furlough from September 13th, when he and his bride will leave for his Rochester New York, home where they will spend their honeymoon as the guests of Mr. Andrew's parents. Enroute, they will visit Washington, New York City and other points of interest in the North.
