Funeral services for Mrs. W. Gilbert Draper, 73, were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Harold Poland, minister of the Broad Street Church of Christ officiaiting. Burial was in the Cookeville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Draper, the former Carrie Mable Byrne, died Thursday at the Cookeville General Hospital following an extended illness.
A native of Granville, Jackson County, Mrs. Draper was the daughter of Bascom and Dorthula West (sic) Byrne. She attended school here and was a resident of Cookeville throughout her married life, residing on N. Washington Ave.
Mrs. Draper was a member of the Broad Street congregation where her husband served as an elder for some years.
Survivors are a son, Newton B. Draper, Cookeville, daughter, Mrs. Dorothea Draper Witherspoon, Nashville; 2 sisters, Mrs. Maude Willoughby, Granville, Mrs. Sherman Hunt, Nashville and a daughterinlaw, Mrs. Newton B. Draper of Cookeville.
