Laura Natalie Stirn was the widow of Louis A. Stirn, a silk merchant. She died at her home on 79 Howard Avenue, Grymes Hill, S. L. on 29 Oct 1943

Laura was the daughter of Prof. Henry Methfessel, founder of the Staten Island Day School and the granddaughter of John A. Roebling, designer of the Brooklyn Bridge.

She was a founder of the St. Cecelia Society, was one of the oldest members of the Staten Island Garden Club and was known for her collection of rare plants.
