Born in Scotland and immigrated to Greenbrier Co. Virginia when he recieved a landgrant there probably about 1750. He married a lovely Irish Lass, Jane Jameson in 1765 in Augusta, Va. They migrated to Mason Co. Ky in 1793. He was a veteran of American Revolution. He lived a long and rich life and died at age 88.
