Edwin B. Thorson, 90, Elk Point, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 1992, at a Vermillion hospital.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Elk Point. The Rev. Leslie Hernes officiated. Burial was in the Elk Point cemetery, under directions of the Anderson Funeral Home in Elk Point.
Mr. Thorson was born May 22, 1902, in West Union, Iowa. He married Ruth Olson, Oct. 21, 1929 in Elk Point. He was employed as a bridge crew foreman with the Milwaukee Railroad for 30 years. Mrs. Thorson died June 29, 1990 in Elk Point. Mr. Thorson was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church and IOOF Lodge #4, Elk Point.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Judith) Anderson of Fender, Neb., and Betty Thorson of Van Nuys, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Marian Carol of Austin, Minn., and Mrs. Alice Anderson of Adams, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
