Edward Albert Hollatz, son of August C. Karl and Augusta Wilhelmine (Strauss) Hollatz, was born Februay 14, 1890 at Joliet, Will County, Illinois, USA. Edward was two years old when the Hollatz family moved to their new farm located in Hancock County, Iowa in 1892. It was here that Edward was raised and was learning all of the family farm needs.
In 1916 Edward Albert Hollatz married Anna Margaret Park, daughter of Tonjes and Talea (Linderman) Park, at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Garner, Iowa. Anna and Edward were members of St. John's Lutheran Church, which was the center of their lives. To this union a daughter, Vivian Lina Hollatz, was born in 1923 and baptized at St. John's Church the same year.
Edward passed to his reward on September 3, 1973. Burial is in St. John's cemetery. Edward's burial is next to his wife, Anna Margaret.
