IRON STATION - Fred Lavon "Doc" Richards, 64, Fox Den Circle, died Aug. 30, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte. He was a native of Belmont, son of the late Fred Eugene and Ada Crouse Richards, carpenter for Duke Power for more than 20 years, active member of Alexander Memorial Baptist Church, Belmont, served eight years with the North Carolina Air National Guard.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Bobbie Abernathy Richards; daughters, Cindy Caldwell, Iron Station, Sandra Keller, Maiden; sons, Mike Steven Richards, Lincolnton, Mark Anthony Richards, Vale; brother, Zane Richards, Belmont; sister, Betty Waters, Belmont; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren
