WILLIAM G. EASLEY, 80
RETIRED GROCER, DIES

William G. Easley, 80 years old, member of a pioneer Joplin family and a retired grocer, died at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at St. John's hospital, where he had been a patient since December 12.

Born in Illinois January 3, 1864, Mr. Easley came here with his parents when he was 6 years old. He was engaged in mining several years and later operated a grocery store at 215 Gray avenue. Upon Mrs. Easley's retirment the store was taken over by his daughter, Mrs. L.C. Herb, and moved to B stret and Connor avenue. Mr. Easley was a member of the First Baptist church and the Half-Century Club.

Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Herb, 816 West B street; a grandson, Jefferson Herb, 814 West B street, andtwo sisters, Mrs. Jennie Allen of Neodesha, Kan., and Mrs. Elmira Cole of Wellsville, Mo.

Funeral arrangements will be under direction of the Thornhill-Dillon mortuary.
