Elizabeth A. "Liz" Shore, 76, of Davenport, Iowa died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. Celebration of Life services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 121 W. 12th St., Davenport. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Suday, April 18 at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, and 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the Cathedral Great Hall. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.

Mrs. Shore was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Gary, Ind., to Chester E. and Anne (Hopkins) Adams. She married William S. Shore Sep. 4, 1848, in Gary. She graduated in 1948 with her B. S. degree in technical journalism from Iowa State University. In 1992, she retired after 21 years as Registrar for Marycrest College, Davenport.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, serving as Sunday school teacher, a member of the Cathedral choir, Daughters of the King, and attended the Cathedral's Diocese of Iowa annual conventions. She was an accomplished poet. One of her poems was selected for the Bettendorf Sesquicentennial quilt. She participated in the original Women's Health Initiative Program sponsored by the University of Iowa's Preventative Intervention Center. She was active with Quad-City Family and Consumer Sciences, Women in Educational Administration, Theta Sigma Phi, a professional sorority for journalists, and most recently as secretary/treasurer of the Davenport Museum of Art Volunteer Guild. She also enjoyed her volunteer work with residents of Ridgecrest's Crest Health Care Center, and the Mississippi Valley Blood Center, Davenport. She was a talented cook, seamstress and enjoyed traveling to foreign countries.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. William Shore, of Davenport; daughters, Catherine A. (Mrs. Jose) Martinez, of Belle Glade, Fla., Margaret L. Shre, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Sarah J. Shore of San Antonio, Texas; son David B. (Dea Jae) Shore, of San Antonio; grandson, Travis Shore, of Orlando, Fla.' four step-grandchildren, including Jason D. Hanks, of Ames, Iowa; and brother, Charles C. (Marcia) Adams, of Lake Wylie, S.C. She was preceded in death by a daughter; Mary, in 1987.
