Ben Ray Ison "Together Again" Our loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, Ben Ray Ison, age 77, passed away January 29, 2004 at home surrounded by his family. Born September 22, 1926 in Blackfoot, Idaho, son of Melvin and Leta Wells Ison. He married his eternal companion, Jean Miller, on July 27, 1956 in the Manti LDS Temple; she preceded him in death on June 11, 2003. Dad was a member of Phi Ma Alpha and Delta Phi while at Idaho State College. He was active in the Kiwanis of Tempe, Arizona and the Sugarhouse Rotary. Music played a large part in Dad's life and he enjoyed many years with the Beehive Statesmen (S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.) As an active member of the LDS Church, Dad served in many callings, including most recently as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. Dad is survived by his children: Steven (Jolene) Ison of Illinois; Susan Ison, Taylorsville; Elaine (Glen) Beckstrom, West Jordan; and Shannon (Terry) Crawford, West Jordan; 10 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; and his brother, Dwain Ison Funeral services will be Monday, 12 noon, at the Taylorsville 16th Ward, 3495 W. 4850 S. A viewing will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Monday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
