Harvey E. Combs died at his home in Luray, March 10, 1907, in the eighty second year of his age. Of the family who survive him are his aged companion and six children: Thomas R, Harvey A., and Albert L. Combs; Mrs. R. G. Humphrey, Mrs. Winnifred Drew, and Mrs. Lee Stevens. Father Combs was a long time member of the Baptist Church of Luray, in which the funeral services were conducted on the afternoon of March 11th by Rev. Laidley of Kahoka. The Masonic Fraternity buried him with the honors of the order according to their ritual. The deceased was a good man and citizen. The funeral was largely attended. The community sympathizes with the family and feel the loss of another old and respected neighbor. The interment was in the Luray Cemetery, where he was laid to rest in the hope of the Resurrection.
