Mr. Emerson F. Bruns, age 85 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, May 3, 2003 at the Capital Health Care Center. Mr. Bruns was born January 18, 1918 at Milbury, Ohio, the son of Harry and Florence Hensieck Bruns, both deceased. He was married on February 16, 1945 at Kansas City, Kansas to Wilma G. Brothers, who survives.
Mr. Bruns graduated from Gibsonburg High School, Gibsonburg, Ohio and from Bowling Green State State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. A resident of the central Missouri area since 1948, Mr. Bruns was employed as an executive in the business office of the Boonville Training School for boys which was later the Boonville Correctional Center until his retirement in 1986.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Oddfellows Lodge.
Other survivors include: one son, John E. Bruns of Jefferson City, Mo.; three brothers, Ralph Bruns of Pemberville, Ohio, Art Bruns of Port Clinton, Ohio and Benny Bruns of Perrysburg, Ohio; one sister, Gladys Storms of Bradner, Ohio.
Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Charity of their choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
