He was born October 11, 1924 in Clearfield, Utah, the fourth child of Ralph and Thelma Olsen Hamblin. He married Fay Jean Pearson, of Farmington, Utah, September 23, 1949. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He was a lifelong, active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions, including Sunday School president, and High Priest group leader.
Dick was a career mechanic, spending 28 years as a service manager for General Motors. He loved spending time in his garage helping his family and friends. He loved the outdoors, his horses and his hunting dogs. He was an avid fisher and hunter, logging 47 consecutive deer hunts with his sweetheart.
He is survived by his four children: Kathie (Ray) Sipe, Richmond, Utah; Judy (Kevin) Mauchley, Kaysville, Utah; Joni Beecher, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Ric Hamblin, Farmington, Utah. He leaves behind eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Earl (Mary) Hamblin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 1, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Memorial Rock Chapel, 272 North Main. Friends and family may call Friday at Lindquists Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the chapel 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
