Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Smith, 86, who died at his home two miles west of Rokeby, Neb., Monday will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Wesley Chapel church at Rokeby. Burial in the Wesley Chapel churchyard with the Rev. J. R. Smith officiating. The family requests that no flowers be sent.

Benjamin Franklin Smith
Mr. Smith was born at Wilkes-Barre, Penn., November 3, 1839, and departed from this life at his home Monday, February 9, after a brief illness. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the civil war and came to Nebraska in April 1869. He filed at once upon an eighty-acre farm to which he afterward added forty acres. He resided upon his homestead continuously until the time of his death.
In 1903 he united with the Church of the Brethren and from that time, sustained by an abiding faith and trust he lived the life of a Christian until his death.
He is survived by his wife and six children. Eli, Dan, Mrs. G. L. Williams, and G. O. Angelo of Lincoln, Mrs. J. E. Miller of Virginia, Mrs. W. A. Angelo of Idaho. A son Quincy died in infancy. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren besides two brothers who live in Pennsylvania. Two brothers and a sister proceeded him to the beyond.
