Elvin Elvie Haynam, age 72, of Minerva, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, in Aultman Hospital following an illness of several years. He was born May 25, 1934, in New Franklin to the late Harold and Florence (Crowl) Haynam.

He was a carpenter and retired from the Knoch Corp. in 1996. He graduated from Minerva High School in 1952 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in New Franklin and Louisville F.O.E. Aerie #2374.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn J. (Cook) Haynam whom he married in 1974; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue (Bush) and Randy Apple of Delphos, Ohio; a sister, Esther (Stuart) Johnston of Homeworth; two grandchildren, Brooke and Travis Apple; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Haynam.

Following cremation, a private memorial service will be held at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Minerva with Pastor Donald Pentz officiating. Burial will be in New Franklin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Minerva or St. Johns Lutheran Church in New Franklin.
