Henry H Rose age 28 of Iowa City,Iowa nativity Ohio enlisted Aug 15 1862 into Co K 22nd Iowa Infantry as a Sgt.

Died of disease Jul 10 1863 on board hospital steamboat "City of Memphis".
The steamboat could have been anywhere on the Mississippi or large tributary.
His burial site was unlisted. Possibilities could be Vicksburg,Memphis, Mound City and Jefferson Barracks National Cemeteries among others.

Samuel Rose age 43 and Arthur Rose age 18 enlisted into Co D of the same regiment - 22nd Iowa. Possibly close relatives. See entry and flowers for Samuel Rose 1819-Sep 28 1843.

Henry H Rose was married to Malvina Overholser Rose Roberts in 1857. I don't have any information on Malvina. Her father was Jacob Overholser Memorial ID 25472691. Henry is not related to Samuel or Arthur Rose, at least closely. Henry had a bunch of brothers and sisters. Lemuel and his first wife , Ada Howe, had Norval D, born Nov 3, 1815, William D. born Oct. 10 1817, Martha D. born Oct. 10, 1819. Lemuel's second wife wife, Elizabeth Chadwick , had Timothy H, born Nov. 28, 1823, Julia A. born Aug. 14, 1828, Almira, born Aug. 1, 1830, Emma E., born Feb. 1, 1832 Henry H, born Oct. 2, 1833, Warren C., born July 30, 1836, Martin L., born June 28, 1838 and Edward, born May 12, 1845.
