He was born Oct. 3, 1942, in Kittanning, a son of the late Frank M. Toy and Dorothy (Wasson) Toy.
He was employed as a machinist. A member of Brush Valley Brethren Church, he served in the Army. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, hunting, fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Nascar. His grandchildren, "brats", were his pride and joy. It was always a fun-loving joke between them, as they would refer to him as the "the biggest brat."
Survivors include his wife, Carrie (Miller) Toy; daughters, Cathy Caroline (David) Dunn and Tammy Rupp, both of Kittanning; grandchildren, Carrie (Matthew) Gardner, of Bryan, Ohio, Cassandra (Jacob) Dively, of Kittanning, Samuel Rupp, of Cowansville, Jessica Toy, of Kittanning, Christopher Dunn, of Kittanning, Desiree Rupp, of Kittanning, and Addison Toy, of Kittanning; great-granddaughters, Lorelai Gardner, Maelynn Gardner and Kinley Gardner, all of Bryan, Ohio;
brothers, Blaine (Joyce) Toy, of Kittanning, and Russell (Sandi) Toy, of Adrian; and sisters, Madge Walter, of Kittanning, Emogene Walls, of Kittanning, Pat (John) Kovalovsky, of Ford City, Dora (Richard) Tarr, of Kittanning, and Debbie (Frank) Irwin, of Kittanning.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Glenn Samuel Toy, who passed away Aug. 20, 1998; brother, Truman Toy; and sister, Charlotte Yount.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 200 South McKean St., Kittanning. Additional visitation will be held from 10 until the time of services at 11 a.m. Monday in Brush Valley Brethren Church, Adrian, with Pastor Vincent Edwin officiating.
Interment will be in Brush Valley Brethren Church Cemetery.
