BOTZONG

C.F. Botzong, sixty-six years of age, died on Sunday February 13th, 1927, following an illness of several months in the Minden Sanitarium. The deceased was born April 3rd, 1860 and had spent the entire years of his life in Webster Parish. He was married in 1879 to Miss Mattie Curry and to this union were born sons and daughters. He is survived by his wife and four children. More than forty years ago Mr. Botzong united with the Missionary Baptist church and was a consistent member throughout his life. With highest christian ideals he lived the "Golden Rule", expressed in the 14th chapter of John, and was a true friend, a good neighbor and a kind and thoughtful husband and father.

Funeral services were held from the Baptist Church on Monday, February 14th at 2:30 p.m. when many friends and relatives assembled to pay a tribute of love to one whose life had been an inspiration and a blessing to them.

The sacred and impressive services were conducted by the Reverend Frank Tripp, pastor of the First Baptist Church. The body was conveyed to the City Cemetery," overlooking the City of Minden," and the long line of procession, weeding its way over the hill, was an expression of esteem for the departed. The beautiful flowers so lovingly placed upon the mound and around the grave were expressions of love and respect.

The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. F. Botzong, two daughters, Mrs. June Turner and Mrs. Mack Smith and Mr. John Botzong and Mr. Jim Botzong. One son deceased, Mr. Charles Botzong leaves four children for whom the deceased most lovingly cared. They are Nobie, Everett, Glentis and Joyce Botzong.
