Hattie Hayes Wilford
Hattie Hayes Wilford, daughter of Isaac Hayes and Sarah Williams Hayes, was born September 13, 1882, at Republic, Kan., and passed away September 28, at the age of 86 years and 15 days.
She was married to Thomas D. Wilford on February 20, 1901, at Republic, Kan.
To this union five sons and two daughters were born. Most of their early married life was spent in the Republic area before moving to Superior in 1927. She moved to Los Angeles, Cal., in 1939, later making her home with her daughter in Baldwin Park, Cal.
She was preceded in death by husband in 1938, two sons who died in infancy, one son, Irvin, one grandson, Kenneth Wilford, two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include: two sons, Lloyd of Tucson, Ariz., Everett of Superior; two daughters, Faye Harding of Baldwin Park, Cal., and Edith Livings of Los Angeles; 23 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Services were held from the Megrue Funeral Home, Superior, Saturday, October 5 at 2:00 p.m. with Interim Pastor Gordon Harper officiating. Interment was in the Washington Cemetery, Republic County, Kan.
