Olivia Eleanor (Abts) Grossell
May 20, 1908 - Nov. 24, 2001

FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis. - Olivia was called to her rest peacefully Nov. 24, 2001. She was brought into this world by her parents, Elizabeth and Paul Spehn Abts, on May 20, 1908.

Olivia married Joseph F. Grossell on June 28, 1933. He was called to his rest Jan. 11, 1968. Olivia was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fountain City. She also was a member of the Altar Society and Women's Foresters at the church.

The past year, Olivia made her home at St. Michael's Lutheran Home in Fountain City, where she spent her pastime playing cards and crocheting hangers.

Olivia was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Marcella Abts; and one son-in-law, Arthur Schollmeier.

Olivia will be sadly missed by her family, Marilyn Schollmeier and friend, Bernie of Lindstrom, Minn., Vernon and LaVonne Gunderson of Fountain City, Deward and Patty Grossell of Winona, Betty and Dan McCorry of Elk River, Minn., and Mike Grossell of Buffalo City, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, Randy Gunderson, Lori Esselman, Kim Platteter, Mitch, Tom, Steve and Rob Grossell, Kelli Ewald, Kathy Rendler, Jackie Pearson and Tara McCorry; 21 great-grandchildren; a very special sister, Florence Grossell of Fountain City; and nieces and nephews.

Preliminary service for Olivia will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fountain City, with the Rev. Douglas Charles Robertson officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home in Fountain City, where there will be a rosary at 7 p.m.

Casket bearers are a godchild and granddaughter, Kim (Gunderson) Platteter; grandsons, Randy Gunderson, Mitch, Tom and Steve Grossell; and a special nephew, Byron Grossell.
