Betty Sue Brent Schuller, 85, of Houston, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in Houston. Services took place on Saturday, August 7, in Spring, Texas.

Betty Sue, known by all as Sue, lived a long and happy life. Her early years were spent in Mississippi. Born on her grandfather's birthday, she moved with her family around Mississippi and Louisiana, following her father, Jesse Malcolm Brent, who worked for the railroad. With a large extended family in Tylertown, McComb, and Columbia, she eventually settled in Laurel with her mother, Ethel Rimes Brent, and her brother, Bobby Mac Brent, after her father died in 1938.

She graduated from high school and went to work as a secretary for lawyers in Laurel. After meeting Jerry Schuller (1922-2009) in 1950 and marrying him in 1951, she began what turned out to be a 58 year marrage that she described to a friend as their "life of adventures." The two of them moved around the U.S. and to the Canary Islands in the first 13 years of their marriage, finding time to have a houseful of kids in the process. They moved the family to Houston in 1964, where Sue and Jerry lived for the rest of their lives. In addition to being Mother, Wife, and Grandma, Sue found time to play bridge with her many friends, to work as a secretary at St. Mary's Seminary in Houston, and to volunteer at the End Hunger Network. She now rejoins Jerry to continue their adventures.

Sue is survived by her children Susan, Jerome Jr., Michael, William, and Sarah and 11 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the End Hunger Network (www.endhungernetwork.org) or the charity of your choice.
