JAMES C. McPEAK DEAD

James Campbell McPeak died at 6 o'clock this morning at St. Mary's Hospital, where he had been sick with pneumonia. James McPeak was born February 12, 1845, in Cambridge, Ohio, and came to Kansas about thirty years ago. He lived in Indiana a year and in 1891 he returned to Kansas, settling in Emporia. Mr. McPeak was a stone cutter until failing health caused him to give up his work. He is survived by two brothers. In the war of the Rebellion, Mr. McPeak enlisted in Company B, One Hundred Thirty-third Indiana Volunteer Infantry and served during the war. He was a member of the G.A.R. and Methodist Church. The G.A.R. will have charge of the services.

The following pall-bearers will meet at 9:15 o'clock tomorrow morning at Hardcastle & Kenyon's to escort the body to the church: J. M. Knox, A. J. Crocker, R. J. Edwards, Adam Bitler, William Cowder and Charles Harris. Members of the W.R.C. will also attend the funeral.

THE McPEAK FUNERAL

The funeral of James Campbell McPeak was held this morning at 10 o'clock in the First Methodist Church, the G.A.R. conducting the services. Interment was made in Maplewood Cemetery. Following were pall-bearers: A. J. Crocker, R. J. Edwards, Adam Bitler, William Cowder and Charles Harris.
