Mrs. Anna Margaret Appel, mother of John Appel, Sr., residing east of town died at the home of her son, last Sunday afternoon, at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 14 days, and was buried in the German Baptist Cemetery, Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Appel was born in Russia and came to America about 30 years ago. She was the mother of nine children, 6 of whom are dead, two sons and one daughter still survive. She had been sick a long time and bedfast for the last two years.
