Mary Ella Randall was born on May 13, 1861 at Brownville, KY [NE] and passed away at her home at Hunters on June 3, 1938, following an illness of several months. She had been in failing health for a number of years.
At the age of 12 she came west with her parents to Pendleton, Ore., and in 1889 [1882] was married to James H. Randall and moved to Cheney where they resided until 1894, then coming to Hunters, where the family has since made its home on a farm one mile east of town.
Mr. Randall passed away more than 25 years ago and since that time Mrs. Randall and two of her sons, Clinton and Lyle, have resided together, spending a few years on the coast and the rest on the farm at Hunters. Mrs. Randall is survived by three sons, Clinton and Lyle at the home, and Roy of Sacramento Cal., and daughter, Mrs. Ethel E. Angelberg of Santa Cruz, Cal. One son, Herbert, preceded her in death in 1929.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, June 5 at the Greenwood Park Chapel with the Rev. J. E. Rice, Free Methodist minister of Chewelah, officiating. Interment was made in the family plot at the Greenwood Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were W. E. Lockman, W. A. Kniseley, Ralph E. Overmyer, Sr., A. H. Johnston, J. M. Glasgow and R. R. Christian, Mrs. Mattie Laugenour, Mrs. William Spencer and son, Forrest, sang with Mrs. James Spencer at the piano.
