Myron 'Mike' Bechner, 69, of Cambridge, MN, died Sept 20, 2002, at his home.
Myron was born May 9, 1933, in New Ulm, MN.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Carl Bechner; brother: Dick Bechner; and sister: Bonnie Kartarik.
He grew up in St. Paul, MN, went into the Navy in 1950, and after being discharged, married Anna Marie Ciresi in 1957 at White Bear Lake, MN. They spent several years in the suburbs of St. Paul before moving to Circle Pines, MN, in 1966 where they raised their two children: Barb and Jeff.
Myron retired after approximately 32 years from Modine Airsystems in St. Paul in 1998. Mike and Ann moved to Cambridge, MN in Jun 2002. They have both thoroughly enjoyed the town and friendly and helpful people in the Cambridge community.
He is survived by his wife: Ann (Ciresi); daughter: Barb (Tom) Petschl of Fredonia, WI; and their children: Eric, Kevin, and Emily; son: Jeff of Coon Rapids and his children: Eric, Miranda, and Michael; sisters: Clementine (Richard) Schuckert of Battle Lake, Sharon Mitchell of Wyoming, MN, Jay Finch of Long Prairie, Chris (Jerry) Hauwiller of Golden Valley; brothers: Allan (Nancy) of Coppell, TX, David of Breckenridge, Bruce (Norma) of Forest Lake; and special friend, Lori Nelson, of Coon Rapids.
Funeral services were held Sept 24, 2002, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Cambridge, MN, with Father Jose Edayadiyil officiating. Musicians were Nancy Kastel and Greg and Mary Kuhn. Honorary pallbearers were Kim Amsrud, Joe Ciresi, and Tim Douglas. Pallbearers were Bob and Tom Ciresi, Dana Henjum, Robert and Tony Mitchell, and Jim Peterson. Interment was in Christ The King Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Strike Funeral Homes-Cambridge Chapel, Cambridge, MN.
