Mercer Boy's Funeral Draws Many Friends

The funeral of Ralph Albert Anderson, formerly a student of William and Vashti College, later employed in DE Farr's clothing store, and then returning to his father's farm hoping to regain his health, was conducted from the home of his parents, Mr and Mrs CA Anderson, three miles northwest of Aledo at 2 o'clock yesterday, April 30, 1924 by Rev Sidney A Guthrie of the First ME Church with a very large number of friends present, including a big delegation of Modern Woodmen and about fifty members of the Epworth League of the ME Church. Songs were sung by Mrs ST Ash and Mrs Harry C Dodson, with Miss Helen Ash at the piano.

The interment took place in Sugar Grove cemetery, where the Modern Woodmen conducted their burial ritual.

Ralph Albert, son of Mr and Mrs CA Anderson, was born near Aledo on October 25, 1898 and passed away at Mercy Hoospital, Davenport Iowa April 28th following an operation from which......hour when he never rallied....leaves to mourn his loss....and mother and the following...ers and sisters: Arthur of Muskegon, Michigan; Earl of near Aledo...Minnie Bonygne of Iowa City.....Tillie, Edyth, and Myrtle at....besides a host of friends and relatives.

Ralph became a member of ...methodist Episcopal church during the Newland revival meetings and had been a faithful member ever since. It is indeed sad for a young man just in the prime of life, full of hopes and plans, not only for himself but other members of his family as well, to be taken from us. But how beautiful and comforting is the thought of his constant devotion to his church and its organizations, especially the Epworth League, giving of his time and means for the success of its meetings.

Ralph was always of a sunny and cheerful disposition, easily making friends and retaining them. He graduated from the William and Vashti Business college, and with the exception of a year's employment in Aledo, he has always spent the rest of his time at home.

The early Christians were accustomed to bid dying friends "Good night", so sure were they of their ....on the Resurrection morn......Ralph.....
