Joe Baumgartner Dies; Ill 4 Months Joe Baumgartner, 78, on Monroe died at 7:15 p.m. Friday at his home. He had been ill for four months. A son of Peter and Mary Hawkins Baumgartner, he was born Jan. 26, 1887 in French Twp.; Adams County. His marriage to Viola Beitler, who survives, took place Dec. 30, 1906. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Esther) Yager of Owosso, Mich., Mrs. John (Anna) Rodich of Monroe Route 1 and Mrs. Merle (Alice) Burkhead of Monroe; four sons, Russell L. and Roy W., both of Decatur Route 2, Glen J. of North Manchester and Don H. of Lansdale, Pa. One sister, Mrs. Hattie Studebaker of Bluffton, 25 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren also survive. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Wintereg-Linn Funeral Home inDecatur until 11:30 a.m. Monday, when the body will be taken to the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren at noon to lie in state until services at 1:30 p.m. Rev.
