Joseph L. "Bud" Chargois, 84, of Orange, Texas died Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at The Meadows in Orange.

Born in Vinton, Louisiana on September 21, 1925, Bud was the son of Joseph Lionel Chargois, Sr. and Beulah (White) Chargois.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and worked as a welder for W.R. Grace Chemical. Bud was also a music director for a number of years at First Baptist Church in Vinton, MacArthur Heights Baptist Church in Orange, Calvary Baptist in Church in West Orange, and Starks Baptist Church in Starks, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Olive (Barrios) Chargois; and sister, Evelyn Alamond.

Bud is survived by his wife, Hope Chargois; two daughters, Ellen Edgar and Susan Walker; two step-daughters, Sue Sulsar and Beth Molder; and three step-sons, Michael Sulsar, Randy Sulsar and Barry Sulsar; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Erline Godwin and Elodie Croft; and brother, Thomas Riddick.

Burial: Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly, Louisiana.
