Funeral services for Waldon J. Sharp, 80 were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 1990, from the McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church in Pearl. Dr. John Case, Rev. Jim Benson and Rev. Steve Burton officiated. Interment was made in the Eastern Cemetery in Forest.

Mr. Sharp passed away in Tuesday, November 6, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, following a sudden illness. He had lived in Rankin County for the past 35 years and had lived in Jackson and Forest. Mr. Sharp was a member of the McLaurin Height United Methodist Church in Pearl. He was the pioneer of the first commercial hatchery in Scott County. He was a charter member of the John Byrd Masonic Lodge in Pearl, and a member of the Eastern Star and the Pearl-Brandon Rotary Club. He was a co-pilot of the Pilot Club of Jackson. He was a lay delegate for the United Methodist Church for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Josephine Z. Sharp, Pearl; one daughter, Mrs. Jo Beth S. Lee, Pearl, one son, Mr. W.J. (Don) Sharp, Jr., Pearl; one brother, Mr. L.V. Sharp, New Albany; fie grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Beach Sharp.

Pallbearers were Robert Shiver, Robert Harris, Kenny Pope, David Lyle, Darrell Roe and Danny Pope.

Honorary pallbearers were the Men's Sunday School Class at McLaurin Heights United Methodist Church, Tom Burt, William Clark, B.C. Tadlock Charles Green, Tom (Red) Shivers and A.C. Crossnoe.

Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge of the arrangements.
