Raymond Elsworth Hess, age 77, of Calhoun passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014, at a local hospital.

Mr. Hess was born in Shamokin, PA on August 12, 1937, son of the late Marlin Hess and the late Sarah Jones Hess. He was also proceeded in death by his wife, Nita Williams Hess, and his siblings, Marlin Hess, William Hess, Geraldine Barnes and Judy LoRusso. Mr. Hess was a long time employee of the Calhoun Stock Yard. He will be missed by the people he met at his work and his co-workers.

Survivors include two brothers, Don Hess and his wife, Linda, and Denny Hess and his wife, Carlene; a sister, Marilyn Haug and her husband, Fred; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene Williams and his wife, Phyllis, Winston Williams and his wife, Joy, Martha Moore and her husband Joe , Nettie Everett and her husband Bill, Patricia Gilbert and Richard Earl; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, with the Rev. Mike Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Everett Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Peeler officiating at the graveside.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the service time. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Sunday at 1:30pm and include: Michael, Adam, Jacob, Owen, Wade and Colton Williams.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the Everett Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2167 Everett Springs Rd. NE, Armuchee, GA 30105.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel and Crematory, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
