DRESDEN - Barbara E. West, 75, of Dresden, went to be with the Lord at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2008, in Florida, with her loving family at her side.
Mrs. West was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Chandlersville, a daughter of the late Oscar and Kathleen Brown Hall and was a 1950 graduate of Chandlersville High School. She enjoyed camping with her husband was a member of the Good Sam Camper Club and the Land of Lakes Airstream Camper Club. She also enjoyed euchre and bingo.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clair E. West, whom she married March 4, 1951; five children, Pamela (Roy Patrick) McCarty of Dresden, Kimberly (Rodney) Lacy of Conesville, Terry West of Dresden, Kevin West of Nashport and Tonia (Ralph) McCarty of Trinway; grandchildren, Tiffany McCarty, Trenton McCarty, Emily McCarty, Bryan Lacy, Brittney Lacy (David) Haberman, Matt West, Brandon West, Hope West, Cameron West, Carlie West, Jacie West, Brice McCarty, Ryan McCarty and Nick McCarty; and one great-grandson, William Benjamin Haberman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley McCoid.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home in Dresden.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jay Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dresden Volunteer Fire Department or the American Diabetes Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
