MANTACHIE - Billy Eugene Turner, 67, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Tupelo to Clyde Eugene Turner and Verna L. Brown. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Jerry Estes officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Clara Turner of Mantachie; four sons, Al Turner and his wife, Tanya, of Fulton, Mike Turner and his wife, Donna, and David Turner, all of Mantachie, and Mark Turner and his wife, Lori, of Tupelo; two sisters, Wanda Platt of Marietta, Ga., and Eva Hitchcock of Mantachie; two brothers, James Turner of Burgaw, N.C., and Jack Turner of Lugoff, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Turner, and a twin sister.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 7:30 a.m. to service time Friday.
